The Curriculum Needs To Prepare for the FutureBy John A. FjeldstadCandidate for Board Member; Brentwood Union School District | |

Students Need More Interactive Learning ExperiencesThe future of all/most/many of our students will certainly require some knowledge of computer usage. This doesn't mean games and streaming videos. It means how a computer works, what tools are available (at an age appropriate level), and taught by experts. I have noticed as a teacher's aide that students react with much enthusiasm to just about anything that includes group activity and interactive learning. The development of simple computer programs would be ideal. Strong emphasis in art and music also provide excellent opportunities for interactive learning experiences. The intent is to provide an excellent educational experience led by excellent teachers leading to a love of learning for all the students. |
