Tri City Board of Directors Responsibilities

The Tri City Medical Center, board of directors have certain and specific responsibilities which include:

  • Ensuring the effective and efficient running of the hospital

  • Provide guidance

  • Provide leadership

  • Making sure the hospital is running at a profit

The board of directors needs to provide sufficient care in their decision-making process.

That includes acting in good faith, and to act in a manner, that is in the best interest of the both the hospital and the public. At the very least, the directors must guide and support management in its quest to deliver quality health care.

Can the culture of this board of directors hinder quality of care? If so, does it mean Tri City is constrained to provide less than it could? What about the profile of the hospital and staff moral?

  • I believe the answer is yes, at some level this has to be the case.

This Board has gone farther and farther from its core mission which is to provide direction to the administration for optimal healthcare in the community.

Their lack of professionalism and civility, injected with personal politics must cease.

  • There needs to be a 100% focus on having the best hospital in all areas
