• Served in a variety of PTA Board positions at La Ballona Elementary School

• La Ballona Elementary School's 2007 "Volunteer of the Year" Advocate for public education in Sacramento and Washington, D.C.

• Founded the Taste of La Ballona, a healthy food expo, applying for and receiving grants from the California State PTA to support it
