I hope the following information helps you understand who I am and what motivates me. I have been actively involved in our community for many years. My desire to become your State Representative is a natural extension of these efforts. My Family I was born and raised in Trenton, NJ. My father was a 30-year veteran of the Trenton Police force rising to the rank of lieutenant before he retired. My mother Ada was a stay-at-home mom for most of my childhood before she became a part-time crossing guard for the Trenton school system. I am the eldest of four children. My Wife Veronica I met Veronica in 1990 while I was working as a consultant at QVC. We were married on October 19, 1996 and have resided in East Whiteland Township since being married. We have 5 cats: Powder, Bilbo, Pippin, Pumpkin and Butters. Veronica graduated from Immaculata University in 2002 with a BA in Biology. In 2008 she completed her Ph.D. in biology at Drexel University and is currently employed at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. Veronica is working to develop a microbicide to prevent the transmission of HIV. My Education I graduated from La Salle University in 1986 with a BA in Computer Science. While at La Salle, I joined the Sigma Beta Kappa fraternity and eventually became the Vice-President of the fraternity. I remain in touch with many of my fraternity brothers. My Career I have spent my entire career as an IT professional and have been employed by The Vanguard Group since 1995. Throughout my career, I have worked as a project manager, technical lead and software developer. My Interests I have participated in sports all of my life. I am an avid tennis player and I enjoy playing basketball with friends and co-workers. Veronica and I are certified scuba divers and have taken many dive trips including trips to Australia, Mexico and the Honduras. I am the proud owner of the Fighting Guppies in the Cal Ripken, Jr. fantasy baseball league. I am an avid reader and enjoy reading classical literature and historical biographies. Volunteer Organizations
I believe in giving back to the community and have done volunteer work for a variety of organizations. As an animal lover, my initial volunteer efforts focused on eliminating animal abuse. I wrote numerous letters to businesses and elected officials concerning the plight of animals and the human health hazards resulting from inhumane practices. As a result of my experiences, I became a vegetarian in 1998 and have remained one ever since. I became involved with charitable organizations like Habitat for Humanity, SHARE Food program and the Christian Children's Fund where I have sponsored children for over 10 years. I have focused on supporting these types of organizations as they empower people to help themselves. As someone who cares about the environment, I have been a Sierra Club member since 1996 and was a member of the East Whiteland Township Environmental Advisory Council (EAC). As a council member I have seen the number of environmental challenges that townships like East Whiteland face. These issues require competent government cooperation at all levels. My philosophy about making a difference can be summed up by the words of Mahatma Gandhi "We must be the change we wish to see." |
