Approaches to the City BudgetWe need to evaluate every City department and agency - including outside contracting agencies, to determine, if they are cost effective and actually providing the services they are supposed to provide. We must assure that there are no duplicative or ineffective services. The City must be proactive in managing the budget and reviewing expenditures. We must be willing to make difficult decisions to curb wasteful spending. We should be creative and forthright, in seeking revenue sources, and not let ideology, deter the need to find alternative sources of revenue |
