Candidate for
Council Member; City of Carlsbad

Mark grew up in Carlsbad and has enjoyed watching his home town grow into the thriving city it is today under the competent leadership of those who have been elected to office. He has been actively involved in the community as a member of the Rotary Club, Boy Scout leader, church leadership, school board member, humanitarian projects, and most recently as a 2-term member of the City Council. He was awarded the Masters Meed Community Leadership Award in 2005 by Carlsbad's renowned Chamber of Commerce, and honored by the San Diego-Imperial Council Boy Scouts of America in 2008 as a "Distinguished Citizen."

As a local businessman and Council Member Mark has both developed and demonstrated the fiscal discipline to keep Carlsbad's economic health secure, and the sensitivity to help our local businesses succeed. He serves on the North County Transit District Board of Directors, the Buena Vista Lagoon Foundation Board, League of California Cities, and the City/Schools Coordinating Committee.

A husband and father of six children, and currently "grandpa" to 9 grandchildren, Mark values and continues to defend the traditional family values that have been one of Carlsbad's strengths.
