Ken's family has been in the area since 1852 when his great, great grandparents came to the Jackson Valley in Amador County. His family then moved to the Lodi/Stockton area in the early 1900's.

Ken Vogel was born in Stockton in 1945 and moved to Linden/Waterloo area in 1947. Ken attended Linden Schools, graduating from Linden H S in 1963. He attended Fresno State University where he received a BA, an MA, a Teaching and Administrative Credentials.

Ken Vogel raises walnuts and cherries in the Linden and Farmington areas and also provides custom farming and ranch management services. In 2004, Ken Vogel received an award from Diamond Walnut as the outstanding Hartley Walnut grower.

Ken and his wife Donnetta have been married for 28 years and have four children. Scott, age 25, works for a marketing research company in Los Angeles, Carolyn, age 23, teaches missionary children in Amman, Jordan, Robert, age 21, lives at home and is a college senior, and Tommy, age 19, serves in the U.S. Navy. The Vogel family attends First Baptist Church in Lodi.
