For 25 years, I worked for the County of Orange, CA as Executive Assistant to the Director of Public Works, as a Staff Analyst in the County Administrative Office, and as Manager of a unit in charge of performing Environmental Management Agency audits and inventory control. I frequently dealt with the Board of Supervisors, State and National Legislators, and the public. I worked extensively on educating the public on the billion dollar Seven Oaks Dam project and served on two major task forces: 1) A task force with the Sheriff and District Attorney investigating improprieties in the Housing and Community Development Department, and 2) the Orange County Bankruptcy Task Force. I have earned an Associate's Degree in Engineering; a Bachelor's Degree in Economics; a Master of Public Administration Degree; a Certified Municipal Clerk credential; and an Election Administrator credential. Upon receiving my MPA Degree, I was awarded a Lifetime Teaching credential to teach Public Administration courses at the community college level. In addition to being the Hemet City Clerk for the past four years, I also manage an H&R Block income tax office in Menifee, CA. Last year my staff and I completed nearly 2000 income tax returns. I am an Air Force Viet Nam era veteran, earning a Viet Nam Service Medal, a Viet Nam Campaign Medal, a Good Conduct Medal, and a National Defense Service Medal. I have been married to my wife Evelyn for 43 years. We have 3 children and 6 grandchildren. We moved to Hemet in 1998 to help care for our elderly parents. I have been a member of the Elks for 27 years and I am a member of the American Legion. I am also a member of the Hemet/San Jacinto Chamber of Commerce. My hobbies include bowling, golf, and travel. I am Vice President of the Seven Hills Property Owner's Association, a senior community. |
