A native of Espanola, New Mexico the first capital of New Mexico born in the San Juan Pueblo and the third oldest of six children raised by a single mother, Robert has dedicated his life and career to service and his community. Throughout his career, his ability to bring people together to find common ground, and his proven record of achieving results for the people of our city. Robert Serrano enlisted in the United States Marines and served in its most decorated unit, the 2nd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment.

As a Marine, Mr. Serrano was awarded the Sea Service Deployment Ribbon twice, and proudly wore the prestigious French Fourragere unit award. He served in Korea, Japan, Philippines, Hong Kong ,Thailand for two tours His most prized award, however, is the satisfaction he receives from serving his community helping his customers secure there property from damage and theft as CEO of API Security Service INC. As a labor leader Robert served the CWA as a Steward with ADT Security for 19 years and lead the change on safety standards thru OHSA at the workplace and help in payments to union members who filed grievances to recover unpaid vacations and many other grievances Robert filed over 50 grievances in one month bringing the company to understand that equal rights is important and safety will not be compromised and toolbox meeting must be done every two weeks Robert help create the largest increase in pay in over 20 years as civic leader he's led the fight to improve, protect the rights of working people, and make our neighborhoods safer, and a better place to live. As a community leader Robert help and trained young boys ages 13 thru 16 in basketball training and served his community as the Head Coach for 17 years bringing competition to the Parks and Recreation and having 9 or more 1st place teams. Now Robert is running for City Councilman #10, on a platform of honest and effective government and big goals for the city that has given him so much.
