Stephen was born and raised in Southern California, and currently works and lives in Glendale, California. He graduated from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration. Having an uncanny ability to find almost anything, he has gained a reputation of being a Findologist.

In an effort to increase his knowledge of the Promotional Products Industry he is working toward his Certified Advertising Specialist (CAS) designation. Ropfogel has also graduated from the Leadership Glendale program sponsored by the Glendale Chamber of Commerce.

It has been his philosophy that being a community-based company it is important to give back to the community. "Not only do we work in the community, but we live here also, it is important that we leave it better then we found it." To further these ideals, Ropfogel is an active member of and is serving or has served on the Boards of Directors of the following organizations; Glendale Unified School District Educational Foundation (Founding Board Member 2005), The Presidents Advisory Council of Glendale (Two-Terms/President 2002-2004), Glendale Association for the Retarded (President 2001-2002), The Salvation Army, Glendale Safe Place (Exec. Committee 1999-2005), The Glendale Sunrise Rotary Club (President-Elect), Glendale Youth Alliance (Board of Directors 2000-2003), New Horizons Family Center (Advisory Board 2001-2005), Glendale Rose Float Association (Board 1999-2002), Glendale-Crescenta Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross (1997-2003), Glendale Chamber of Commerce (Vice-President 2003-2005), and The Days of the Verdugos Association (President 2001-2002). Ropfogel supports the Glendale Adventist Medical, where he is a member of the Oaks Society and was a supporter of their Business Partners Program. He is also a life member of the City of Hope Medical Center. Other organizations that he contributes to include: Glendale Healthy Kids, Glendale Business and Professional Woman, The Glendale Memorial Hospital Foundation, Glendale YMCA, Glendale YWCA, and Glendale-Mexico Sister City committee. Ropfogel served on the Board of Trustees of the Granada Hills Community Hospital Foundation from 2000 to 2003.

Because of Ropfogel's involvement the Glendale Chamber of Commerce recognized him in February 2003 as their Man of the Year and in 1998 he was the recipient Community Service Award for his outstanding dedication to the Glendale Community. And, in January 2003 by the Montrose-Verdugo City Chamber of Commerce as their Volunteer of the Year. In May 2002 he was honored as the Man of Achievement by the Glendale News-Press, published by the Los Angeles Times and was also a finalist in 2000. In 1999 the Delta Sigma Pi Leadership Foundation honored his company, Creative Promotions Unlimited as an Outstanding Corporate Citizen. This award is given for "Exemplifying the highest standard of commercial ethics and culture in the business world".
