Atascadero's Road Maintenance ProgramBy J. Mike ArrambideCandidate for Councilmember; City of Atascadero | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
Our city's unique rural nature means it has more miles per capita of road than any other SLO County city. Creative solutions will continue to make our roads safe. The City of Atascadero has more miles of road than any other city in our county. The per capita tax income of our City is among the lowest in our county. Compounding this situation, are miles of roads used by our community that are not owned by our city. As a Councilman, I have supported the expansion of our City Road Program. During the past 5 years, our city has averaged more than a million dollars a year in maintaining its roads. Our city has assisted neighbors in forming assessment districts when they have wanted to bring their roads up to standard. I have supported the increased expenditures on our roads and infrastructure because I know it is essential to a healthy and safe community. |
