Candidate for
Supervisor; County of Kern; Supervisorial District 2

I have been serving the citizens of eastern Kern County for over seven years as Supervisor Steve Perez's Field Representative.

My background consists of the following: I was born in Los Angeles in 1941 and grew up in La Puente. My early work experience consisted of working in my family's retail nursery business. I served four years in the United States Marine Corps. I enjoyed a 22 year career with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, retiring at the rank of Lieutenant. In Tehachapi I served as a Board member and as Administrator for the Tehachapi Valley Hospital District from 1988 to 1992.

My wife of 34 years, Billie and I have always been active in our community. Some of the highlights include, serving as a former board member and past president of the Greater Tehachapi Chamber of Commerce. Chaired the Tehachapi Mountain Festival for 2 years (was successful in re-establishing it back at the City Park), past member of the Warrior Boosters, Ag Boosters, Libra Library Associates and a former board member of the Tehachapi Wind Fair to name a few.

Together my wife and I raised four daughters. Our two youngest daughters have their own families in the Tehachapi area. Currently we are blessed with 13 grandchildren.

I possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Police Science and Administration from California State University, Los Angeles.
