Accomplishments as Your City Council Representative

By Bill McManigal

Candidate for Member, City Council; City of Concord

This information is provided by the candidate
Since 1994 I have worked hard to change the way this city does business.

I served on ad hoc committees to negotiate the contract that brought Waterworld to Concord; the built a new police headquarters - on time and under budget; that rebuilt and expanded the Concord Pavilion; and to negotiate the lease that brought Brenden Theatre to downtown Concord.

As Mayor, I negotiated the successful deal that will bring JFK University to a downtown location. With that university will come a new and expanded joint City/County/University library. Because of the reforms put in place in city government, we are able to build this new library with no new taxes, and are will be able to finance a greatly expanded schedule for use by our residents.

I found a new home for Gallery Concord, to continue the tradition of arts in our city, and I was very proud to turn the wrench to loosen the first bolt to take down the spirit poles which represented such a negative image of our city.
