Accomplishments to Improve Quality of Life in Concord

By Bill McManigal

Candidate for Member, City Council; City of Concord

This information is provided by the candidate
I am very proud to have served as fund raising chairman on the citizens committee to raise millions of dollars to open the Daniel E. Boatwright Sports Complex for our young soccer and little league baseball players. This is a perfect example of joint cooperative efforts between city and private enterprise for the betterment of all.

I am equally proud of being able to start the process of building a skate park in Concord for our youth. Based on an idea from the Law Works Class students, we began the work that will culminate in opening a park early in 2001.

Now we are embarked on a long overdue and greatly needed major overhaul of the Concord Senior Center. We will soon have the premier center for all our senior citizens to meet and enjoy.

These things have all been accomplished with no new taxes, and I have worked hard as your advocate to make sure we have gotten our dollar's value for each tax dollar spent.
