Develop and Implement a Building Plan That Makes Sense and is Economically Sound

The present board has approved building a new school on Toro Canyon Road and adding unsightly temporary buildings to the existing schools on the eastern side of the district. This is poor planing and is not meeting the needs of the district's student population..
Last year the voters approved a bond issue in order to provide needed maintenance and improve our present facilities. There was no mention in the bond proposal of building a new school on western part of the district, Toro Canyon, or any other area. There was also no mention of using bond money to build a football stadium. The Board of Education has violated the wishes of the taxpayers and voters by proceding to recommend building a new school on Toro Canyon Road and also to use bond money to build a new football stadium. I am against this action.

John Franklin has been on the Board of Education for 12 years and Tyson Wilson has served for 8 years. Mary McWhirter has served a full term. Their shortsightedness, regarding the physical needs of the district, and required additional housing on the east side has created an emergency situation. The district is now forced to add unsightly portable classrooms and overcrowd our present schools.

Temporary buildings are ment to provide "temporary" housing, and will have to be replaced in the future with permanent buildings, thus requiring the taxpayers to pass another bond. Taxpayer dollars are being wasted because of lack of forsight, and long range planning, by our present board members. They need to be replaced!
