You must have registered by May 23
to vote on June 7.

Qualifications to Register to Vote
See Voter Registration in California from the League of Women Voters.
See Voter Registration from the Secretary of State of California. You can now register online. Better yet, use your county's voter registration service if available.
Check status of your voter registration.
VOTING BY MAIL (ABSENTEE VOTING) and VOTING EARLY

To process your application more rapidly, we (the Department of Elections) recommend using the application provided on the back cover of your Voter Information Pamphlet; or

You may also download a Vote-By-Mail Application (PDF),

which you can fill out and mail to the Department of Elections; or You may send us a signed note, postcard, or fax requesting a vote-by-mail ballot.

Any voter may vote early by a Vote-by-Mail (Absentee) Ballot or they may vote early in person.
Mail in your Absentee Ballot to the
Department of Elections:

To vote early in person:
Go to the Department of Elections beginning
October 9, 2012:
Room 48, 1 Dr. Carlton B. Goodlett (City Hall, Ground Floor),
Monday - Friday-- 8:00 am. to 5:00 pm.
Saturday & Sunday, October 27 & 28, and November 3 & 4, 2012, 10:00 am. to 4:00 pm. (enter from Grove Street only) (Call the Dept. of Elections for confirmation at 415-554-4375)
You don't have to give a reason for voting early.
Any ballot that arrives at the Department of
Elections after 8 p.m. on Election Day will not be
counted.
