Not all students go to college so they should be prepared with other skillsCalifornia will only be strong, prosperous, and competitive when this State's workforce is knowledgeable and/or possess skills that are in demand. We need exceptional schools. Some students are best suited to higher education while others will find their future in trades or enterprises. The Public School system is the best way to make learning accessible to every child in California. It is absolutely necessary for us to assure that resources are available to educate and train our children. It is essential that all Californians contribute to this goal. California's competitive edge will slip if all do not have access to high quality educational opportunities. Parents around the world realize that educating their children is the key component to competing in a demanding global economy. There are many exceptional private schools in California. People who choose to educate their children outside the public schools should feel free to do so. However, since a public school system is organized to provide education for all, it is counterproductive to take funds from public education to fund private schools. Choosing a private school should require private payment by those who follow this education path. |
