Candidate for
Board Member; Pacifica School District

I am running for the school board primarily to continue my service on behalf of the students, staff and parents of Pacifica School District. I have a deep belief in the educational value of providing a path of opportunity for all students.

For the past 7 years, I have been involved in Pacifica School District's public schools, as a parent of four, a school volunteer and a member of the Executive Boards of Parent Teacher Organizations. We need to foster a public education system that embraces and celebrates the individuality of all our children and facilitates their ability to reach their full potential, whether that be through the sciences, mathematics, music, language, Special Education, solid curricula, creativity, respect for the teaching profession and a dedication to promoting the joy of learning in our schools and all our children.

Along with volunteering in the schools, I spend much of my time working to support Pacifica youth sports, including soccer, football and swimming.

I'm proud to have been honored with the Pacifica School District's Elna Flynn Volunteer of the Year award in 2011.

In 2013, I was humbled to have received the Mayor's Diversity Award.

I believe that I can serve the Pacifica school community even better as a representative on the school board.
