Daryl and Jan have been married for 53 years. They have two married daughters and three grandchildren.

In 2000, Daryl and Jan moved to Lodi. Daryl desired to continue his career, even in retirement, so he accepted a position teaching Independent Study for three years at the Grant Joint High School District. More recently he served on the Lodi Superintendent's Budget Committee for two years and served as a judge for senior projects at McNair High School for two years.

Currently he is serving on the Bridgetowne Homeowner's Association Board.
