Candidate for
Board Member; Gilroy Unified School District

My association with Gilroy Unified School District is extensive and varied. Beginning as a substitute teacher and parent volunteer when my daughters were young, I was subsequently hired as an elementary teacher and served in this capacity for 14 years. As a teacher at both fourth and sixth grade levels, I was employed at El Roble Elementary, Jordan Elementary, and Rod Kelley Elementary Schools.

Upon completing a Masters Degree and two-tiered Administrative Credential, I was hired as the Assistant Principal at Brownell Elementary School (subsequently, Luigi Aprea Elementary School). In the following years, I served as Principal at:

• Eliot Elementary School
• San Ysidro Elementary School
• Rucker Elementary School
• Antonio Del Buono School (founding principal).

• designated as "Lead Principal" for elementary principals;
• trained in the Slingerland Methodology (a multi-sensory approach to language
• trained and taught elementary teachers in GUSD in Accelerating Literacy;
• appointed to the District Negotiations Team;
• appointed as principal representative to the District Boundaries Committee.
