Full Biography for Nathan Westphal
Candidate for |
Nathan has resided in Riverside county since 2003 with his wife and two children. His attendance at almost all WMWD board meetings for the past two years most certainly qualifies him as an informed candidate. In 2010, Nathan stood against automatic rate increases and the tiered rate system and provided the board with a detailed outline reflecting inaccuracies in the reporting figures. He continues to stand for the truth on all issues and fights to keep water rates low. For the past 19 years, Nathan has been heavily involved in computer programming and computer electronics. He has been Microsoft Certified in System Engineering since 2001. His passion for software development soon found him authoring and developing numerous software applications and apps for various clients. His attention to detail has resulted in finding solutions for some of the most complex problems. WMWD has valued Nathan's input and has included him in many of their numerous visits to sites such as Hoover Dam, local treatment plants, and Diamond Valley Lake. These trips provided the opportunity to see first hand how our water is physically treated and brought to our region. Investing his time to educate himself with regards to our water process has provided him with a new respect for one of our most precious resources. Nathan strongly believes that smart development, encouraging the use of drought tolerant plants, as well as runoff reduction when it comes to new landscaping, is essential. He is convinced that sticking to current County General Plans when planning for new development is crucial so that water agencies do not have to rebuild infrastructure in order to supply us with valuable resources. |
