It's time Dana Point once again came of age and addressed the needs of our growing population.
Original ideas were brought forward as far back as 2001 regarding the development and execution of a proper skatepark for the youth of our community. Our City's leadership has been dragging their feet and pointing fingers why nothing has happened as of yet and whose fault it is. While it's true, space is limited within our prized coastline town, compromises need to be made towards our available areas and modern thinking needs to be addressed rather than pushed to the back of the list--yet again. If you're still scared of skateboards, well--You shouldn't be! They are your sons, daughters and now your grandsons and granddaughters and if you don't address their need for a safe place to congregate, the will increasingly continue to rip through your shopping plazas and neighborhood streets! Give them a place they can call their own, even if it goes against all your ill-kept preconceived feelings tell you! This isn't about YOU, it's about ALL OF US!
