Candidate for
Council Member; City of Fountain Valley

I am 48 years of age...born on December 16, 1965 in Allentown, Pennsylvania. I moved to California in 1974 and have proudly lived in Fountain Valley for 18 years.

Many of you know me from my association with the Fountain Valley Chamber of Commerce where I first served as an Ambassador, and was honored to be Ambassador of the Year 2011, and then elected to serve on the Chamber Board of Directors until recently. I was also an Account Executive with Fountain Valley Living Magazine and visited more than 80 percent of our City businesses.

• Fountain Valley Chamber of Commerce Member 2010 to present. I have signed up 23 new business members to date.

• Fountain Valley Summerfest Committee Member 2014 to present.

• Fountain Valley Community Foundation Member 2014 to present.

• Fountain Valley Friends of the Library Member 2014 to present.

• Fountain Valley Historical Society Member 2014 to present.

• Fountain Valley Woman's Club Member 2012 to present.

• Fountain Valley Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors 2011 to 2014. Four Board Members were up for re-election. I was nominated from the floor as a write-in candidate. Chamber Members were told they could write in my name and vote for me besides the other names listed on the ballot...they could vote for 3 people. After the votes were tallied, I was elected to serve a 3-year term on our Board of Directors...first time ever in the Chamber's 45-year history for someone to be nominated from the floor. This is something I will always cherish....faith and support of our Chamber of Commerce members. At that time, I laid the groundwork to become a Fountain Valley City Council candidate.

• Fountain Valley Chamber of Commerce 2013 Business Awards Nominee 2014.

• Fountain Valley Chamber of Commerce Ambassador Chair 2013 to 2014.

• Fountain Valley Chamber of Commerce Member Services Committee Member 2012 to 2013.

• Fountain Valley Fit-n-Fabulous Fashion Show, the annual Senior Center Fundraiser. Ensured the models were "Runway Ready" 2011 to 2014.

• Fountain Valley Chamber of Commerce Ambassador 2010 to 2014.

• Fountain Valley Chamber of Commerce "Ambassador of the Year" 2011.

• Women's Business Connection Member 2010 to 2012.

When asked my future goal for the December, 2011 Fountain Valley View article entitled "Chamber's Ambassador deluxe hints at political future", I replied, "I am considering joining the City Council. ..... I laid the groundwork for this campaign more than 3 years ago.

I am out there in the community -- each and every day -- attending and participating in our events and talking to our residents and businesses. Whenever I can, I wear my "Elect me" t-shirt to open the door for conversation... hoping to hear from people. It works and I hear it all! I confidently say that I am the candidate with the highest visibility in our community.

For the past 18 years, I have been working in the construction field for a tile installation; slab fabrication and installation company here in the city, in the capacity of working with general contractors, homeowners, designers, tile/stone suppliers, and with our Fountain Valley City Hall, as well as doing company paperwork and taxes.

I am grateful to have the desire, the flexibility, the time, the means, and the energy needed to serve on our City Council.
