I'm proud of all we've accomplished during my first term on the Orinda School Board and would love the opportunity to continue working collaboratively to accomplish the Board's primary goal: providing Orinda students with the highest quality education.

I'm grateful to have served on the Orinda school board these past four years. During my tenure, all our schools were honored as California Distinguished Schools. We've maintained small class sizes, and our test scores are among California's best. We've worked to ensure the future success of our students by developing long-term plans for curriculum, technology and facilities. We've accomplished this while remaining fiscally prudent.

Yet, more needs to be done. We must continue to attract and retain the best teachers. We must work hard to successfully implement the Common Core curriculum. We need to inform and involve our community in our decision-making process.

Like many of you, I'm actively involved in our community and schools. In addition to the school board, I serve on the boards of the Friends of the Orinda Library and the Miramonte Parents' Club, and am an active volunteer for my children's schools and sports teams. My three kids have thrived in our schools, and I'm committed to ensuring that all Orinda students have the same opportunity.
