Candidate for
Board Member; Acalanes Union High School District; 4 Year Term

It has been my privilege to serve the past four years as a member of the Governing Board of the Acalanes Union High School District, one of the top performing districts in the state. While I'm proud of what we have accomplished, there is much more to be done.

During my tenure, I have worked closely with all stakeholders-- teachers, parents, community members and district staff-- to ensure that our students continue to receive the excellent education they deserve. I attended numerous community meetings and educational forums to receive input and discuss board policies with interested citizens.

I have brought a parent and community member perspective, actively listened, promoted collaboration between the administration and teachers, and provided fiscal oversight and guidance to the district.

As we move to a different funding method resulting from a change in state law, it is more important than ever to monitor our finances while maintaining our focus on providing our students with the best instruction and extracurricular opportunities in California. I will continue to be diligent in delivering the best value for the taxpayer dollars that you entrust with us.

I have been a parent and active community volunteer since moving to the area in 2001. I have been President of the Friends of the Orinda Library for the past three years. Both of my children were students in the district and greatly benefited from the quality education they received.
