Political Philosophy for Thurston C. Brice
Candidate for |
My Name is: Thurston C. Brice My Age is: 69 My Occupation is: Operations Manager/PTR Tennis Coach Education and Qualifications: My Wife of 39 years and my two children I moved to Oakley in 1986 from the Midwest and have made Oakley our home. I am a Vietnam Veteran and I retired from AT&T as Fiber Installation Quality Control after 30 years in 1998 and have since returned to the workforce as Operations Manager for Loaves and Fishes Contra Costa and as Boys Tennis Coach for Liberty High School. I have served as the Oakland Diocese Chapter President for the Knights of Columbus and as Finance Chairman for St Anthony's Catholic Church. I also served as a substitute teacher in the Oakley School District. I graduated from De La Salle High School in Kansas City, Missouri and got my business degree from University of Phoenix. I bring to the table a diverse paradigm with the goal to continue to make Oakley the place to live as civic responsible citizens. When elected I plan to focus on our somewhat voiceless populations that our need community support, like our developmentally disabled, our underemployed, our seniors, our youth, and our average struggling middle class wage earner, in other words You, Me, We. My two major issues are to establish a large and multi-diverse City park for the citizens of Oakley and to facilitate a train station depot in Oakley, so residents can access all areas of the Bay area and all other California locations via rail. |
