Celia Hirschman Occupation: Business Consultant

I am particularly well suited to serve on the Oroville City Council. For 35 years I managed six companies with combined budgets over $30 million. I have supervised dozens of employees and I understand the difficulties in attracting businesses and consumers to Oroville.

My life changed when I moved to Oroville. I renovated a home on Montgomery Street. I created the Montgomery Street News, a monthly newsletter written by the downtown community and the Oroville Historic District Neighborhood Watch. We have been very active in protecting the best of Oroville. We have rallied to close the 711 Montgomery Motel. We created safety protocol for children at Halloween and we sought remedies in court to protect residents from the most expensive water company in Oroville.

Oroville needs more executives on the Council to guide the market development of the city. While we are only a city of 15,000 people, our sphere of influence is far greater. Over 55,000 residents live in surrounding neighborhoods and hundreds of thousands visit Lake Oroville every summer. Oroville should have a strong robust economy to match the destination location that it already is.
