Smart Voter Official Statement for Heidi Hall

Candidate for
United States Representative; District 1

This is a copy of information submitted to elections officials by the candidate

Name: Heidi Hall

Office: U.S. House of Representatives, Congressional District 1

Age:

Occupation: Resource Manager

As your representative in Congress, my top priority is to create jobs and economic growth, because rural areas like District 1 are still recovering from one of the worst recessions in our history. I will work to create fiscal incentives for employers to hire unemployed veterans and training programs to get the long-term unemployed back into the workforce. I will initiate programs for fire-safe clearing in our forests that will also create good-paying jobs people need right now.

Extreme partisan bickering in Congress has held hostage sensible measures that can help get our economy on track including closing corporate tax loopholes, making our tax structure simple and equitable, investing in public education and infrastructure including broadband, school construction and road improvements.

I will work to protect and conserve our water in Northern California that is so critical to the financial security of our farmers and ranchers and their employees and families. I will protect Social Security and Medicare programs our seniors depend on, and help students avoid unfair education debt that can saddle them for a lifetime. As a working mother, I support a woman's right to choose, will fight to ensure pay equity for all women and am very proud to have the support of Congresswomen Jackie Speier and Anna Eshoo who have been outspoken leaders on these issues.

I ask for your support to bring responsible, common-sense leadership to Congress to end the gridlock and partisan bickering that has prevented real solutions and new jobs in our district.
