Born in Mexico and moved to Reedley California as a youngster. I grew up and schooled in Reedley and learned hard farm labor work and appreciated the value of education. I moved to Fresno as an adult and served my public service life-long career from Fresno County Clerk through the Fresno County District Attorney as an investigator. I started my police career with Fresno P.D. and moved on to San Jose, Madera and Huron Pd.

I continued my law enforcement career with the State of California with Dept. of Corrections, and the Agricultural Labor Relations Board and retired from there in 2005 as agent in charge of the Santa Barbara and Ventura counties.
