I have over 10 years of experience (since late 2002)on the board of directors for TCSD, serving as president for 2 years and vice president for several more. I am interested in environmental stewardship related to TCSD activities. I have been a leader on the TCSD budget process, approving and overseeing a decade of balanced budgets at TCSD. I was president and was responsible for making the TCSD parks ADA accessible and hiring the popular general manager, Mr. Jon Elam. I have supported and greatly encouraged the terrific park and rec programs offered by the TCSD. I am interested in providing the highest quality sewer and refuse/recycling programs in Marin County and the TCSD won an environmental green business award in 2013 reflecting this focus and goal. I am a technical expert in contracting, having been an engineering contractor and driller and I uses my understanding of budgeting, contracting, employee safety and engineering to serve the TCSD in sewer and refuse contracts and budgets. Since 1990, I have run and own an environmental consulting and contracting firm with my wife Olivia, and I am a professional geologist focusing on water supply and water treatment issues and environmental sustainability. I designed and teach a class on sustainable environmental practices for the University of California, Berkeley Extension Program and I am a Fulbright Senior Scholar, winning four international teaching awards from 2003 to 2012. My goal is to continue to make progress in all the TCSD programs, to maintain balanced budgets, and to build for the future by planning large-scale capital investment programs to maintain and repair the sewer and refuse infrastructure. I also encourage terrific park and rec programs such as Creekside Fridays, Spaghetti Bingo, Oktoberfest, and other programs which are extremely popular in Tam Valley. I request your support and vote to continue the hard work ahead, which includes finding a new general manager to replace Jon who is retiring, and address improvement projects to maintain and repair the infrastructure, and continue with great community-building events. Thank you for your continued support. |
