Note of thanks from Norwalk High School Graduate Brian Hawkins

This is a note that I received from Brian Hawkins, an outstanding student leader, who graduated from Norwalk High School a couple of years ago and is now a university student. I treasure this note and read it when the going gets tough.

Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to present to the Board. It's been a great honor. Watching you on the Board has taught me a lot about leadership. I really admire your leadership and professionalism. I also appreciate your dedication to the community. You're a veteran in the affairs of NLMUSD (Norwalk-La Mirada Unified School District), and it shows in your knowledge of how things work.

Something else I've observed about you is that you're a family man with a strong faith in God. Those are two qualities that I respect so much, but are becoming so rare in today's society. You've affirmed by belief in God and encouraged me to pray to God for strength as a leader.

You're a great man whose service is to be emulated. Thank you very much for everything.
