Smart Voter Political Philosophy for Dwayne Crenshaw

Council Member; City of San Diego; District 4

JOBS: A proven leader in job creation through his work on projects like Market Creek Plaza, Dwayne will:

  • Create at lease 100 new jobs for youth

  • Increase city contracts going to minority, women, and small businesses by 2x on citywide contracts, and by 5x in District 4

  • Improve business and retail centers along major thoroughfares within the district.

EDUCATION: A former teacher, Dwayne understands education. He will:

  • Establish a District 4 Education Fund of at least $250,000 to help our kids have access to the textbooks, supplies, and technology they need

  • Create direct and guaranteed pathways into SDSU and UCSD for graduates of Lincoln and Morse High Schools.

SAFETY: Crenshaw led the Coalition of Neighborhood Councils (CNC), strengthening relationships between police and residents to reduce crime. Dwayne will:

  • Lead a community campaign to help solve unsolved crimes and get violent criminals out of our neighborhoods

  • Secure funds for a year-round gun buyback program to get deadly weapons out of the hands of gangs

  • Create new job and education opportunities to get youth on the wrong track back into school or work and off of our streets.
