|
Nora Saenz was born and raised in Southeast Los Angeles. Like many families in Bell, Nora's family migrated from Mexico in search of a better life. They first moved to Los Angeles before settling in Bell, when Nora was just five years old. Nora's father Juan, worked as a lumberman for MacBeath Hardwood in Montebello for over 25 years. Her mother Sara, was a dedicated housewife that raised Nora along with her five brothers at their home in Bell. Like other immigrant families, Nora's parents worked long hours in order to ensure their family's well being. Today, Nora's commitment to our city is as strong as ever. She has paved the way for social change by inspiring residents to organize for community causes. In addition to leading historic protests, Nora has garnered media attention for her work in Bell. She has inspired residents to fight for lower taxes and has taken her grassroots efforts for change to the county level. Nora is an advocate for our families and plans to continue the struggle for improved community resources. She has a strong vision for our city and will not settle for anything less. Join Nora in making our city shine. |
