Since she was elected in 2005, Mary Sue Maurer has garnered a list of accomplishments that demonstrates her care for the community and the surrounding parkland.

SUPPORTING EDUCATION Launched a generous grant program for Calabasas schools to help maintain their top-notch ranking as well as sustain high residential property values; developed a popular program for Calabasas Girl and Boy Scouts allowing them to participate in local government meetings. Endorsed by all five LVUSD Board Members and former Superintendent Dr. Don Zimring.

ADVANCING SENIOR ISSUES Created a Senior Task Force to build a Senior Enrichment Center behind the library; initiated an expansion of high-quality senior social and recreational programs; developed a special needs database for people with mobility issues to provide assistance in the event of a disaster or evacuation. Endorsed by Savvy Senior co-founders Carol Davis and Sue Somberg.

ADVOCATING FOR PUBLIC HEALTH & SAFETY Worked with local law enforcement to create a "comfort room" where victims of crime and children in protective custody can go to have privacy; created an annual drive-thru flu shot clinic as a model for preparedness in the event of an emergency mass inoculation event; supported legislation that restricted second-hand smoke exposure at outdoor dining areas and in 80% of apartment units in Calabasas.
