Candidate for
Council Member; City of Covina

Jorge is the son of immigrant parents who instilled in him a deep commitment to his community. His mother Veronica immigrated to the United States from Mexico as a child, and his father, Jorge Sr., immigrated in the late 1970s. They raised Jorge, his brother and his two sisters in the City of Covina, where the siblings attended school in both the Covina Valley and Charter Oak Unified School Districts.

Jorge earned a Bachelor's degree from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, and currently attends California State University Los Angeles working towards an M.A. in Public Administration.

Jorge works as a Field Deputy the California State Legislature, and is responsible for handling a wide variety of issues, including Public Safety, Veteran's Affairs, and Housing. Jorge works everyday with cities, school districts, local agencies, community organizations, and residents to advance programs and projects that benefit our community here in Covina as well as the greater San Gabriel Valley.

Jorge is an engaged and dedicated member of his community. He currently serves as President for the Covina Valley Unified School District Personnel Commission, President of the Covina Lions Club, and as a member of the Board of Directors for the Charter Oak Partners in Education. Jorge also served as a Covina City Commissioner for five years, and as a local AYSO coach for seven years.

Jorge wants to draw on his education, experience, and community commitment to serve you on the Covina City Council.
