Dear Friends and Neighbors

My wife and I have been a resident of the City of Cerritos for 35 years. During that time, I have raised two boys who have now left home and are pursuing their own lives. Like most of you, I have participated and volunteered in various city activities throughout the years and have enjoyed a beautiful community that is truly blessed in many ways. I am now retired and in last few years, I have been fortunate enough to participate in the city operations as the Community Safety Committee member. During the participation I realized that I could do more for our great city by becoming a City Councilmember, and why I am writing to you today asking for your support. All my life, I have been in public service. I have been a soldier in the US Army, a police officer in Los Angeles, a scoutmaster, a youth soccer coach, and a bible study teacher. During my service to the public, I always have kept one basic principle in mind. " The idea of "selfless service" was instilled in me when I joined the United Stated Army and attended Officer Candidate School. It grew in me during my years as a civil servant and kept me strong in the face of obstacles. It was never the easy path, but in the end, I have many more people who would call me a true friend and servant of the people.

As you well know, our City is facing financially difficult challenges ahead. We as the city need to manage the City with continually diminishing resources. The City needs to rethink and reorganize its operations to meet the changing realities; simply maintaining status quo is not enough. We want to continue the prosperity and maintain this city as our slice of peace and prestige for many years to come. I know that my years of experience in public service as a civil servant will lead our great city through the difficult times.
