A brief description of why I am running for City Council
During my tenure as house manager of the Raven Theater from 2003 to 2008, I was often asked to volunteer to set up the lighting and audio-visual system for political debates and community forums. By the end of each event I would think to myself, "Wow, this is really interesting stuff, I could do that some day."
I listened intently to forums on water policy, health care, development, city history and environmental issues. I told myself that one day I would run for City Council.
In the years after working at the Raven I have had the pleasure of working on many more activities that enrich our community. The Healdsburg Jazz Festival, The Healdsburg Water Carnival, Foss Creek Cleanup, Healdsburg Sunrise Rotary 4th of July Picnic and the Healdsburg Food Pantry are some of the events and organizations that I have participated in.
I believe that it is important to contribute to one's community, and I gain great fulfillment from doing so.
I choose to run for City Council to take my community involvement to the next level. I believe that my engineering background, volunteerism, and my ability to work well with others will be a great asset on the council.
