Candidate for
Board Member; Ravenswood City School District

I have lived in the East Palo Alto community for over 25 years. I currently serve as a member of the Ravenswood School board. I previously taught in the Ravenswood schools, Bell Haven, Brentwood and Willow. I have continued to work with young people since that time. I opened the first school age after school program for elementary students in 1988.

Before my election to the Ravenswood Board, I served on the East Palo Alto City Council for twelve years. This experience taught me how to be a team player and a strong advocate for the community. My work on the Ravenswood board has increase my skills at developing solutions.

My daily work with high school students of the community has made me aware of the skills our students need for them to graduate from high school and go on to graduate from college.

I continue to be a strong advocate for young people by serving on the East Palo Alto Family Y, and the T-Ball/ Pitching Machine League and serving as Site Director for College Track, a local college completion program.
