Full Biography for Joe Ross
Candidate for |
Joe Ross is executive director of an education nonprofit that brings hundreds of adult volunteers into Bay Area schools to help improve academic performance and put middle school students on a path to high school graduation, college and career success. Previously, Joe worked at Cisco and a start-up company that created the Flip Video camcorder. Through eight years of service in the U.S. Navy, Joe learned early in his career that public service is about connecting the community we serve to our values. In the current economy, our community more than ever needs to ensure students and lifelong learners receive an affordable, world class education. A Truman Scholar and a fellow of the Truman National Security Project, Joe earned a BA from Yale College and, with support from the GI Bill, a JD from Stanford Law School, where he was president of the Law Review. Joe and his wife of 12 years are raising three amazing kids in San Mateo County.
