It's time for a proven problem solver in County Government--not another politician. Rhodesia Ransom is an Educator, Planning Commissioner, Non-Profit Director and one of South San Joaquin County's most innovative and effective citizen leaders. A proud resident of Tracy, Ransom has devoted nearly a decade to strengthening our local economy, improving public services, expanding opportunities for our youth, and protecting the high quality of life that attracts families and jobs to our community. Ransom has worked to develop innovative partnerships with local schools, public safety professionals and businesses to address a diverse array of unmet community needs. Her efforts have connected hundreds of local youth with leadership training and mentorship opportunities, brought gang violence intervention programs into our schools, and helped hundreds of south county families protect their homes from the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning. An Associate Faculty member at the University of Phoenix's Graduate School of Business, Ransom has over fifteen years of private sector management experience, and understands the challenges facing South County businesses first hand. As a Planning Commissioner, she works to revitalize downtown Tracy and attract new jobs while protecting our community's vital agricultural resources and preserving its small town character. Appointed to serve on the San Joaquin County Civil Grand Jury from 2006-2008 (serving as Vice-Foreman from 2007-2008), Ransom helped exposed hundreds of thousands of dollars in wasteful spending, as she worked to improve transparency, efficiency and service delivery across dozens of public agencies. Some of Ransom's other current and past community posts include:
Rhodesia Ransom earned her Bachelor's Degree from San Francisco State University and her Masters in Public Administration from Golden Gate University. Ransom was recently honored as a 2012 "Woman of Tracy" for her service to the community. |
