JOHN WITT is a registered professional engineer with work experience at General Dynamics and General Atomics, and is a retired community college math professor. He is a highly respected member of the San Diego County Board of Education. His tenure has seen the expansion of vocational programs, a dramatic rise of test scores in county schools and an increase in after school programs and summer jobs for "at-risk" youth.

A Navy veteran, JOHN WITT appeals to a wide spectrum of constituents through his participation in Rotary, Commemorative Air Force, Lincoln Club, Asian Business Association, Fleet Planetarium Exhibit Committee and Model Railroad Museum Trustee. He volunteers at St. Vincent de Paul and is active in local community theatre.

JOHN WITT, father of three children who graduated from San Diego schools, married for 49 years, and holds a masters degree from San Diego State University.
