Ramona's FutureBy Robin Joy MaxsonCandidate for Board Member; Ramona Community Planning Area | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
How I will work with our local Community Planning Group to guide Ramona's future.I will work with our local Community Planning Group to promote our rural character while balancing economic opportunity, growth, open spaces and safety. I am committed to positive dialogue and actively solicit ideas from everyone on issues that matter most to Ramonans. I attend the monthly RCPG meetings and am a member of the West Subcommittee where I speak on behalf of sensible planning ideas and our rural heritage. I share the information I learn while attending community meetings that impact Ramona's future through commentaries printed in the Ramona Sentinel and the Ramona Patch. I include solutions, too. I believe the work through the Ramona Village Design group is to be encouraged and will result in more residents and visitors deciding to "stop and shop" on our attractive, "Main Street, USA." Through work with the San Diego County Equestrian Foundation and as the Vice President of the Ramona Trails Association I have had direct input into the updating of the County's Equine Ordinance and can provide guidance to the RCPG related to Equestrian issues. I have been actively working toward a solution to improve safety on SR 67. I have issued a "call to action" to the RCPG to work with our neighboring communities to develop a united front when approaching the multiple jurisdictions responsible for the road which we share. I have requested that the RCPG establish an ongoing SR 67 Safety Subcommittee; which I volunteer to chair when elected. I've worked to encourage the County to develop a comprehensive green energy plan that takes into account "visual impacts" and "dual" use for solar panels, e.g., panels on store roofs or as parking shade structures. The growing wine industry is of great interest to both residents and visitors. As a member of the RCPG I will encourage this agricultural activity while ensuring that impacted neighbors are part of the process. I can be reached at robinjoymaxson@gmail.com or 760-705-7435. I ask for your vote. Thank you very much. |
