Candidate for
City Clerk; City of Oceanside

My political philosophy as an elected official remains the same as that which I demonstrated as a member of the commissions, boards, and volunteer organization on which I have served in Oceanside for almost 30 years - to serve the people of Oceanside.

As City Clerk, I feel it is absolutely essential that the autonomy and independence of the City Clerk's Office be preserved and maintained.

The City Clerk is an elected official who must act for the people of Oceanside without influence from elected or appointed officials, city management officials or other parties.

In order to ensure the integrity of the office, to ensure open and honest elections, to maintain the accuracy of document filings, and to preserve the history of the City of Oceanside, the City Clerk must remain above reproach.

It will be my goal and my duty to protect the reputation of the City Clerk Department as the highly respected, effective and efficient institution is has remained since its inception in 1888.

My phisophy is one of independent, dedicated, open and honest service to the citizens of Oceanside. As your City Clerk, I will support the City Clerk Department, its programs and its staff to guarantee the best service to our Oceanside residents without fail, without compromise yet with courtesy and respect to all.
