Commmunity Education and wellness.By Nancy Bassett, RNCandidate for Board Member; Palomar Pomerado Health System | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
The present elected Board members have planned and executed steps to fulfill our promises to the community, and will continue to do so.During my tenure on the Palomar Health Board of Directors, we planned and built the new state of the art Palomar West Hospital, and are currently working on updates and improvements on the downtown campus and the Pomerado campus. It has always been our intent to follow our mission, which is "to heal, comfort, and promote health in the communities we serve", and to offer access to care, including the best, most modern trauma care possible, for everyone in the Palomar Pomerado District. We also followed up on our promise to deliver the Exresss Care Clinics in Escondido, Carmel Mountain, San Elijo Hills and Temecula, as well the new Ramona Clinic, and will work towards planning and completion of others in the future. To promote healthy communities in our district, we also offer many classes each month, some at no cost and others at a very low cost, to educate those in our area, and offer dozens of Flu shot clinics each year at many different venues. We promoted and purchased the most up-to-date electronic equipment, and fostered the education of all staff and physicians in documentation for its use, which protects the privacy of all our patients at all times, yet allows physician access to pertinent patient information away from their homes and offices whenever needed. There is much yet to be done, and with continuation of the current board, all of whom work respectfully together, we will strive to keep improving patient care, increase staff and physician satisfaction, and meet the needs of our community. |
