Candidate for
Board Member; Milpitas Unified School District

My family and I immigrated to the United States as refugees. My parents were struggling, so I put aside my college education and attended vocational school (diploma in Electronic Technology.) Then I returned to community college as a part-time student and earned an AA degree.

My three siblings graduated from Milpitas High. One brother is now working as school administrator; the other is a detective at Milpitas P.D. and my sister is a dentist. My daughter, a graduate of Milpitas High, is working as Accountant. She served on the Youth Advisory Commission when it was first established. My son, a graduate of Milpitas High and an Eagle Scout, is currently a senior at San Jose State University. My youngest son, a senior at Milpitas High, is finishing his Eagle Scout project.

I served two U.S. Ambassadors for five years as Diplomatic Interpreter/Translator. Since 2004, I have been active on the Parents Association of the local Girl, Cub, and Boy Scouts troops. From 2009 to 2011, I served as Parents' Chief Representative of those troops.
