Candidate Statement

I take a positive and practical approach to problem solving. I will emphasize constructive and timely communication between the district and the community. I will help to ensure that the community is informed of significant issues well in advance of any decision and has the opportunity to participate in the process in a meaningful way.

As a former treasurer of several community organizations, I believe in effective use of resources. The current budget crisis calls for discipline in the use of taxpayer money. I will give top priority to the educational needs of students when budget decisions are made.

Experience: Current chair, Union School District Bond Oversight Committee; former president, Union Middle School Home and School Club; former treasurer, Measure C Campaign; current volunteer, Union Middle School music program; former volunteer, elementary school extended learning program. Active in several community organizations.
