Occupation: RN, PhD, Professor
Education and Qualifications:
I hold a PhD from the University of California, San Francisco. I am a neonatal and pediatric nurse, and Professor of Nursing at the University of San Francisco.

I have three main goals in running for the LASD board. First, I will continue to strive to bring the entire community together for the good of our children. Second, I want to represent you, all the parents and the community - improving ways for the board to hear your concerns and advice - in good times as well as the difficult ones. Lastly, I want to work to keep LASD on top, for the benefit of our children, in the face of the current financial challenges that face education.

I have worked on one LASD Board advisory committee. I have represented the needs of the English Language Learner population. I also have daughters with special learning needs, and recognize some of the unique challenges in educating these children.
