Full Biography for David Ruff

Let's face it. Over the past few years, Sacramento has been put through the wringer. We've seen home values plummet, family members struggle to find work, and city services slashed. But we can't afford to give up. David Ruff believes in this city, knows we have a great future ahead of us, and wants to be a part of the solution. David believes the Sacramento Charter Commission gives us a chance to establish our priorities as a community and set our vision for the future. It gives us a chance to make things better! If elected, he will make sure the voices of parents, seniors, small business owners and community groups are heard loud and clear. As a dedicated member of our community, David volunteers his time in the hopes of improving the lives of others. From 2008 to 2012, he served as Chair of the Natomas Community Planning Advisory Council. He currently sits on the board of the Children's Receiving Home of Sacramento, which is committed to changing the lives of abused and neglected children in the Sacramento region. David also volunteers for the Foster Youth Education Fund, which supports emancipated foster youth in reaching their higher education goals. Since 2007, David has served as Principal Consultant to the Assembly Committee on Revenue and Taxation. In this role, David analyzes pending legislation from both a policy and fiscal perspective. He was previously an attorney in the Sacramento office of McDonough Holland & Allen PC and also served as a Special Deputy District Attorney. David earned his law degree in 2002 from the University of California, Berkeley. He received his undergraduate degree in political science, with highest honors, from the University of California, Davis in 1999. In his spare time, David enjoys singing as a First Tenor with the Sacramento Choral Society and Orchestra, spending time with family and friends, and playing with his somewhat ill-behaved dog Max. |
