What you should expect of me as a board member?

A solid leader who believes in straight talk. A person who will make decisions based on the facts.
I believe that the board should provide strategic direction to the general manager who is responsible for executing day to day operations. I will work with other board members to ensure we have a simple and executable plan that controls the budget, but ensures we improve the ability to deliver safe water to the district. I am very concerned that our daily operational costs + as well as projects like the new wells, are not scrutinized sufficiently. Major cost overruns are can ruin this district just as much as run-away legal bills. Frankly, I don't care about what happened in the past, you can't change history, but with proper oversight, the district can regain a solid financial footing.
