Candidate for
Board Member; Saddleback Valley Unified School District

Ginny Aitkens, currently President of the SVUSD Board of Education, has lived in the Saddleback Valley for 33 years with her husband, Greg. Their three children attended SVUSD schools from kindergarten through high school graduation.

Prior to her election to the board, Ginny served in many capacities including: classroom and PTA volunteer, Facilities Advisory Committee member, Legislative Chair for PTA Council, President of Advocates for Language Learning and President of Education Council. In 1999 Ginny was honored to receive the SVUSD Management Team Association Community Service Award in recognition of her contributions to the district and the Saddleback community.

As a board member, Ginny is a delegate to the California School Boards Association, advocating for the students of the SVUSD. She also served as a member of the steering committee which successfully passed the $180 million Measure B Facilities Bond.

In addition to her SVUSD responsibilities, Ginny is also a member of the Friends of the Mission Viejo Library Board of Directors, as well as a library technical services volunteer.
